An update on Barneys - parcel still hasn't left the depot in Sydney and it's been 5 weeks! When I check the tracking I get 'parcel has been loaded on pallet' OR 'parcel has been unloaded from pallet'. Surely Barneys don't employ a forklift driver to just load and unload the pallet all day (would be funny I guess if it wasn't my return in question!). Will update again as soon as parcel leaves Australia for the US.

Barneys has a fantastic range, slick website and if you know your size precisely and won't need to return an item go for it! However, if you do need to return an item especially from Australia - good luck. It takes forever. Would appear everything goes to a 'depot' in Sydney and sits and sits and sits before it is eventually sent to the US. Has been 3 weeks and my return hasn't left Oz yet! Will be a miracle if it ever gets to its destination and an even bigger miracle if I get refunded.
I've tried several times but i can not process a payment using Visa.
I'm in Australia and they ship to us and the payment is in Aus dollars.

Barneys sent me wrong colour item, because they ran off the one I specifically ordered I assume, no notification, no heads up, no question if I want to cancel the order. I sent the item back, they received it 14 days ago, no refund received despite a number of prompts I sent. Customer services don't even bother replying to my escalatio emails. What is this scam store?!
Yesterday I ordered a pair of jeans from them, my credit card was charged but the order was not placed. I called their customer service several times but no answers. Can anyone help me how to solve this issue? Please recommend now I am so pissed off.
I purchased a designer bag with an additional 25% off. I got confirmation about the order but nothing after that. When I inquired with their Customer Service, I was told my order was cancelled. They were out of that item and said we are sorry. I asked if they can honor the same discount for another bag. They said no, but we can honor the additional sale discount if it qualifies. I wanted to use it but the designer sale was over. So I went back and asked for a coupon to be used at a later date. Again cookie cutter statements about how sorry they are. The last e-mail I received even stated that they have confirmed that an e-mail cancellation was sent. I didn't receive any e-mails from them after the purchase confirmation. Poor customer service that tarnishes any reputation Barneys may have.
I ordered shoes and perfume online. My package arrived damaged. The shoes are in a good condition; but the perfume arrived damaged. I emailed Barney's, received a response to provide some pictures. After providing pictures, calling them and also sending 4 emails I had no response. Finally, 5 days later I received an email. Barney's asked me to provide pictures and order number again. Are you serious? This is insane. The worst costumer service ever. I've never been treated so disrespectful before. I would never buy anything there. I'd rather go to NM where costumer service is excellent.
I rarely shop online from Barneys but chose to, partly because a free gift came with an $85 purchase from Malin & Goetz. I'd been looking for the right opportunity to purchase some M&G products and, with the free gift, this was it. I spent more than I normally would have to reach the $85 minimum. The shipment arrived with no free gift. When I spoke with Stephanie of customer service, she said the gift is "while supplies last," and because none were left, I was no longer entitled to receive it. I advised Stephanie that had I known that, I wouldn't have made the purchase, but she wasn't interested in throwing me a freebie of any sort, not even a little token item. Also, I'd ordered a pair of suede sandals, which arrived with a sticker attached to one sandal that left behind a large, dark glue mark. It's taken quite awhile to try removing the mark. (I really don't want to have to deal with customer service again by sending them back.) Unfortunately, the mark is still there. I plan to follow my own advice -- forget about Barneys and stick with Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf and Saks.

Barneys still reigns as the number one place for clothing and style. I cannot even go to shop at Macys any more with their garbage for sale
I placed two separate preorders for shoes via Barneys.com (I placed the orders about a year apart... I figured I'd give them at least two chances, right?). Both times the preorders were cancelled without Barney's providing any notification of the cancellation - **until I called to follow up on the orders.** "Oops, it looks like we can't fulfill your order... we can't give you any information on when this happened, we can only look this up when you call..." Seriously? Save your time and frustration and shop at Bergdorf's, Saks, Nordstrom's, or even some random corner bodega that provides better service.
It is sad to see what a Mananger with no knowledge on Customer Service, in the Beverly Hills Store. It. Is the Epitome of bad staffing they are beyond ARROGANT, and JADED THEY belong at Saks r Ross, do send a secret shopper, you will be shocked at the lack of knowledge the staff demonstrate, After all the store Mananger was a sales clerk at Saks, One has to wait for service since they pretend to be busy,,

I lost my receipt and they still took my dress back and even gave me a refund instead of store credit. Not many stores would still do this. Good thing the girl recognized me too.
Barney's has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I tried to exchange something that was too big (BTW ALSO THEY DONT DO EXCHANGES) and they lady who answered my customer service call could have not been any nastier. She basically told me to shove it and they would not accept my return (not even for store credit) because it was past the return date. I was literally trying to exchange it for the EXACT same thing, just in a different size. I will never spend another penny of my money at this store. SHOP AT NORDSTROM. THEY HAVE GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN THERE.
Purchased 2 of the same bathing suits in different sizes on barneys.com (because I didn't know what size would fit). Didn't like the bathing suit at all and returned both, BUT DID NOT GET REFUNDED because they said it was a final sale, but product page clearly indicated "free shipping & free returns" and a return label was even provided with the package sent. Their customer service was even more atrocious in that they said they would refund me for one of the suits and give me a gift card for the other. Will NEVER shop on its misleading site again or even their store for that matter.

Nordys is going down hill and they are not carrying class A materials and really only Barneys is left as the real shopping destination
Barney's is pretty hip place to shop at, website looks great and is easy to navigate, the prices are usually fair and there's a good share of discounts and special offers to find something suitable for the occasion.
The customer service reps treat you very respectfully. The products get to you in a timely fashion. The sizes were bit confusing to be honest because I bought a pair of male Prada sneakers as a gift and I to exchange to size I purchased. Although it was his usual size apparently Prada sneakers run wide and he needed one size smaller in contrast to all his other shoes/sneakers. The rep who helps me exchanged them was very informative and gave us new onsite to the products. I'd definitely recommend the site as well as the store.
I bought recently from barneys and i dont like their customer service. They took my money and they didnt accept my return. I hate them!
Barney's online shopping has improved, they choose to use DHL as forwarder now and it's much more easy for me on shipping and return, as I am located in HK. I used to ship on my own fees if i have to return but now, no more! Great news and I want to share with you!
