Ordered a dress to wear for a wedding which was held before Covid-19 struck. I was bust so I didn't have time to shop but the bride recommended them to me. Got a beautiful gown for $130 and it was of a very high quality. Loved the feel of it on my skin, wasn't itchy or bad too. Thanks
My sister had a small wedding with only the family because of Covid-19 and ordered her dress from Anomalie. We were so glad that both her wedding dress and my bridesmaid dress came right on time despite the lockdown. It was a really beautiful dress and she looked so beautiful on it. Thank you!
Unfortunately, I have had an awful experience working with Anomalie. I designed and ordered my dress in October 2020. I measured myself three times before submitting my measurements, and my weight has not changed at all since then. When my dress arrived in January, my first thought was that the workmanship appeared to be low quality, but I hoped it would look better when I tried it on. Much to my alarm, I was not able to try the dress on because it was way too small, I could not even come close to zipping it up. Anomalie assured me this was all just part of the process and recommended a tailor for me to see 1 month before my wedding. I've now had 3 appointments with that tailor to try to fix the dress and it is still a disaster. There are so many things wrong with the dress, too small in many places, but too large in others. The tailor is appalled; In short, the dress is unwearable. After multiple attempts to contact them, Anomalie sent a brief email saying they would do nothing to help me and would not refund the purchase price of the dress- despite it being unusable. It is now 2 weeks before my wedding and I am left scrambling to find a wearable wedding dress, what a nightmare! I am appalled at Anomalie's refusal to stand behind their product.

I planned to use Anomalie for my wedding coming up in a month. I had tried on dresses and was excited to create my own personalized dress. I wanted to include a few pointers for brides thinking of using Anomalie to avoid my experience.
1. Understand the pricing - I wish I would have asked for a breakdown of my pricing. When I was building my dress with my stylist, whenever we added details the price got higher, but when we took certain details away, the price didn't get any less. I should have been very direct in asking them to provide me with why that was.
2. You are no longer involved in the production process like many YouTube videos that I saw online stated you would be. You never see pictures of your dress or the fabrics.
3. When you receive your dress and if you do not like it, think twice about listening to them about altering it to be fixed. You will no longer be able to return it, even if the dress cannot be fixed.
When I sent an email to my stylist after working with her for almost a year about how sad and frustrated I was and stressed because it was a month before my wedding, I asked the schedule a call with her. I got a canned response back with a copy and paste of their policy and basically sell it on eBay. It wasn't until I had emailed back several times that another person I have never worked with called me to hear me out. The only thing they will do for me is reimburse my alterations that I spent on the dress, even though it's a design flaw with the material that was chosen and cannot be fixed.
Clearly a lot of people have great experiences but that was not mine. I would recommend them only to someone who has tried on exactly what they wanted. Do not depend on the stylist to design your dress or make recommendations. Do not expect customer service after they receive your final payment. Everything is automated after that and not personal at all, especially if you are not happy

I've been holding off writing this review in hopes that Anomalie would respond to my emails and address the issues with the dress I received, but after 23 days it seems that Anomalie doesn't care about the products it produces.
I want to start and say that I was ecstatic to work with Anomalie to custom design my wedding dress. Wedding dress shopping was not an enjoyable experience for me and it ended in tears of frustration/hopelessness many times. Nothing I tried on gave me that "this is your dress" feeling. I researched Anomalie and decided that custom designing my dress was the way to go.
I spoke with a Stylist (Adriana) in early April 2021. She looked at some of the gowns I liked and came up with a rough sketch and then talked me through some of the details. Overall, the sketch of the dress was perfect and over the next few months I finalized details for my dress, belt, and veil. The total cost of the dress was: XXX
In July/August 2021 I sent Anomalie my measurements and they sent me a shell dress to try on. The shell fit well (and still does).
Then comes the Monday before Thanksgiving. My dress arrived (a month early)! I kicked my fiance to the garage so I could try on My. Dream. Dress.
But since then it's become a nightmare.
Immediately after taking it out of the garment bag I knew something was wrong. The dress looked HUGE. Shoving down the panic attack, I tried it in. And it is huge. The only thing keeping it on my body is the straps. I expected to have to get my dress altered (and Anomalie is clear that alterations are common). BUT the dress I received is easily TWO sizes too big. That same night, I retried on the shell dress (the one Anomalie sent me after receiving my measurements) and that still fits.
Next I unwrapped the belt, and wow. WOW. What a swan dive into disappointment that was. The belt was suppose to be a half inch wide beaded belt -- and I got that, except it's missing beads and has gaps in many places. The pattern the beads are suppose to follow are sewn half hazard and crooked. Overall the belt looks cheap and poorly made. Claire's would give me a better product.
So trying not to hyperventilate, I move on to the veil. Which is beautiful but not the one I designed, purchased, and dreamed about walking down the isle in. To be clear: I would not have purchased the veil I received.
After concluding that many mistakes were made. I double triple checked my design summary, emails, and texts with Anomalie. I confirmed that the veil I designed was not the one received, the shell I confirmed that fit in July/August and still fits that night.
I emailed the Anomalie Sylist team that night about the concerns I had and asked to talk to someone on the phone. I explained that I would send pictures of me in the dress once I had someone (not my fiance) to take them.
A day goes by and no response.
The next night, my superhero bridesmaid came and took pictures of me in the dress, the veil, and the belt. She also even noticed other small construction details of the dress that looked half-a**ed (crooked buttons, random pieces of thread). She also took pictures of me in the shell dress.
I uploaded all of the pictures to a Google drive. I responded to my original email and shared that drive in a link to Anomalie.
The next day (Wednesday before Thanksgiving) Anomalie responds and tells me: 1. The dress fits fine and I can get it altered. And asks of I need help finding someone to do the alterations. 2. That the veil in my design summary is the one I got. 3. Offers to send me EXTRA BEADS so whoever does the alterations can add them to the belt.
I immediately respond and ask to talk to someone over the phone. At this point, I'm also crying in the lunch room with my coworkers.
The following Monday (11/29) comes. Anomalie responds and tells me they're going through a transition phase and don't have outside phone lines. (Keep in mind this is an entirely online platform that operates through email, text, and video/zoom.)
At this point I am panicking. I feel like Anomalie couldn't care less about the quality of product they provide.
I email Anomalie back. In that email I ask to speak to someone over video/zoom (since that's how all of their appointments take place when they're trying to get your money.) In that email, I also outlined what I'd like to be addressed.
In summary:#1 Why did I spend the time to get measured and try on a shell dress, when they send me a dress that's two sizes too big anyway#2 The belt is cheap and of poor quality. I requested a refund for that portion and would send the belt back. #3 My design summary doesn't match the veil I received and that I would like to be sent one that is correct. I would send the wrong veil back after receiving the correct one.
And then... radio silence.
I waited a week. No response. I sent a follow up email asking them to address my concerns. Nothing.
I sent them a message on Instagram on 12/9/21. They saw it on Sunday 12/12/21.No response. I emailed them again tonight.
I've been ghosted by a wedding dress design company after asking them to hold themselves accountable for their mistakes.
What a crashing disappointment Anomalie has been. My father thought I was crazy to buy a dress off the internet. Especially one that I've never tried on. But he trusted that I would never make this important decision without researching. My parents don't even know I've gotten the dress yet because I don't want them to see it and be disappointed.
Everyone on this site knows how stressful and at times terrible wedding planning can be. Wedding dress shopping was the worst part of this entire process for me. (That includes Covid related planning issues). I started working with Anomalie a year before my wedding because I didn't want to be that cautionary tale about waiting to the last minute to find a dress.
Jokes on me.
Let this be a warning for whoever is considering working with Anomalie on their wedding dress. Anomalie's customer service, if you have any grievance, is nonexistent. The fact that it has been 23 days since I got my dress, 23 days of anxiety and hopelessness, and ZERO help from Anomalie speaks volumes of the character of this company.
I've included some of the pictures I mentioned above. I trust my fiance not to look.
If I hear anything from Anomalie I will update this post.
